The second annual Yarn Shop Day came around so fast! This event is organised by knitting magazine Let's Knit to celebrate the wonderful local and independent yarn shops around the UK, with all sorts of fun shenanigans being arranged for customers at their favourite shops.
We were lucky enough to have the very talented designer, teacher and now published author Anniken Allis visit the shop with a copy of her new book, 'Beaded Lace Knitting' hot off the press! Anniken has long been a friend of Joyce and the shop, and it's wonderful to see her beautiful designs in print. We're taking pre-orders for the new book which will be published by Search Press shortly, so if you're interested get in touch!
We also had some fun yarnbombing the shop. Customers brought in their own squares or knitted them on the day, in exchange for a discount on their purchase. We had great fun covering bits of the shop including the till while Joyce was on holiday. If you're reading this Joyce then don't worry, we still remember which buttons to press ;)
We're looking forward to next year's already!
