Hello World!

With our new site soon to be launched I thought it would be a good idea to get a new blog up and running. Spin a Yarn is soon to be 6 years old and what better way to celebrate this birthday than by growing up a little and joining the rest of the world online.

This blog will be a place for the staff at Spin a Yarn to share our events and accomplishments both in and outside of the shop. Needless to say it will be filled with crafty, woolly things.

As this is the introduction post I should introduce myself!

My name is Verity and I'm the website coordinator for Spin a Yarn and I also run the facebook page. The techie, the newbie, the kid and the geek. I'm 23 going on 40 and have only recently acquired my love for yarn. I've been knitting for 2 years, crocheting for one and have a tendency to grow bored of following patterns and make up my own.

My current favourite yarns are:-
Noro - Taiyo and Aya.
Touch - Brushed Merino and Possum
Rowan - Cocoon and Alpaca Cotton
Artesano - Alpaca DK

I'm a keen reader, having worked in bookshops around the country for six years, and I adore pop art - dabbling in art myself. Expect bright colours and quirky knits from me!
